Acai Berry Diet – What Is It?

There are many fad diets out there but some actually work! Is the Acai Berry Diet one of them?
This diet stems from its use of the Acai Berry. It comes from a palm tree from the Amazon. It has a long history of use over there. It is small, black and round like a small grape. It is used in many consumer products like ice cream. This berry has antioxidant properties, the highest in the planet in fact. Antioxidants cleanse and detoxify the body and promote general health. The berries also have many other benefits. It improves digestion, boosts immunity, reduces the risk of cardiovascular problems, enhances vision, reduces insomnia, increases the mental faculties and it also slows aging.
There is no such thing as a single acai berry diet. It is usually used to complement an existing diet. Most of the time, it is used in tandem with other foods that enhance weight loss. The acai berry itself is used to speed up the process of losing weight. It speeds up your metabolism and a fast metabolism burns through fat faster. It also suppresses hunger. You won’t feel hungry easily. It helps increase your resistance to sweets and snacks.
The acai berry diet has mixed results. It does have nutritional benefits. That can’t be denied but there are other foods out there that can approximate the nutrition you’ll receive from the acai berry. Those foods will be a mixture of fruits and vegetables and the larger variety will introduce more needed nutrients into your body. Those alternate foods will be cheaper too. There are also other foods that can reduce hunger. One notable hunger suppressant is water. And it’s free.
The acai berry can help but it won’t help a lot. The value isn’t much and it may do more harm than good. A dieter may feel that the ingestion of acai berry is all that he needs to do. This is clearly false. The berry can’t do much if your eating habits didn’t change. It won’t stop you from eating a steak a day.
Health and weight loss must be approached holistically. The whole body and mind must be involved. The danger with acai berries is that overt reliance on it can cause further unhealthiness. Eat a balanced diet, exercise properly and you will lose weight. You can try acai berries too while you’re at it but the weight loss won’t really come from the berry.
